Hey.
I don't have anything to advertise or promote right now. [He'll just toss that out there, in case this was the time of the month for that. All he's got are questions.]
I was looking around town. What's with the theaters around here? I heard they got banned? Is that for real? I started acting back home and I'm not abandoning it just because I ended up in a magic world.
How'd they even get banned?

What is a theater?
no subject
Okay, no. He is not going to cry, but he felt his soul take 15 damage.]
It's a building or an outdoor area where plays and dramatic performances are performed.
no subject
Dramatic performances? Is that entertainment that is especially exciting? Like that woman who does tricks with magic and has the wooden puppet?
[Wrong dramatic.]

You'd break the law just for theater?
voice
Yeah. I already swore myself to it.
voice
I share your sentiment. I've been involved with theater all my life and then some. [ "and then some." ]

Oh my. What a terrific question. A tragedy as real as a tale of two star-crossed lovers... You're not mistaking it!
Musicals. Operas. Drama. Sideshows. None of it's legal, in Aefenglom! Performers such as ourselves are prohibited from pursuing our passions! And we wouldn't dare defy the law!!! Have you ever heard of an artist getting in trouble... for causing a scene??
Why do you think a magical society might ban theater, darling? Entertain me.
no subject
There's a bit of a pause as he considers this question.]
I don't know. Did something go seriously wrong? Like... somebody exploded, maybe? I hear witches do that kind of thing. Maybe during a show? Maybe that soured things?
no subject
[Far be it from Mettaton to find anything wrong with simply converting the name of one of the characters into something masculine. Romeo and Julius it is.]
A fabulous answer! You might even be close to the truth... Emotions run high in the sphere of performance! And such strong emotions... could lead to something akin to an explosion. Not that I'm confirming anything.

[Or, at the least, nobody involved in the Outer City aid groups has felt the need to call the law down on him, when he starts doing voices and acting out his stories.]

AND BESIDES. PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE WALLS DON'T GET THE BENEFITS OF LIVING INSIDE... THEY SHOULDN'T BE STUCK LIVING WITHOUT THEATER.

actually
i guess that's why i've never seen a play here.
MAN that sucks!!!
maybe we should try to change the law?? put in a motion or something or start a strike!
[ does flat even know how to politics. he does not. ]
no subject
We'd have to be employed somewhere before we could strike. Otherwise we're not really doing anything.
A motion's probably the best option. I don't know a lot about how the politics here work.
no subject
but we can just...do protests maybe? not like strikes, but just picketing! for the rights of the arts!!

How long ago was it?
no subject
actor, I think. it was on stage anyway. wizard jenkins was who did it, they said.
it was about six years when I showed up and started asking around about it, so that'd make it about seven years now.

[ APPARENTLY SHE'S JUST.. TOTALLY IGNORING THE QUESTION... sorry, Juza. But she doesn't have the answer anyway, so it's not like she could've helped. ]

no subject

By now I'm sure you've been informed on the [yeah.] circumstances surrounding the prohibition of theater here.
How long have you been acting for?
no subject
It hasn't been that long. A couple of months.
